Restaurant Owners, are you set up with Google Places yet? Why not?

This is how Google describes Google Places:
"Today the Local Business Center is becoming Google Places. Why? Millions of people use Google every day to find places in the real world, and we want to better connect Place Pages — the way that businesses are being found today — with the tool that enables business owners to manage their presence on Google."

Four million businesses have already claimed their Place Page on Google through the Local Business Center, which enables them to verify and supplement their business information to include hours of operation, photos, videos, coupons, product offerings and more.
It has become essential for business owners to be able to advertise effectively online.  Mediums like Google, Yahoo, Facebook and Twitter are where millions of people go to get their information as to where to eat, shop, sleep, and where to live, what to drive and what movie to see and which movie theater to see it in.

Shouldn't YOUR business be advertised there as well?

Unfortunately short-sighted business owners will remain complaining about the economy and the status quo and never do anything about it as they close the doors to their businesses for good.

Unfortunately also is that there are business owners that have set up a Facebook Fan page or a Twitter account and it has yet to provide them with new customers.  Read this very carefully and I'll share the secret with you as to why.  You're not using it effectively and optimally.

Hey, we know you have a lot on your plate running your own business.  You don't have the time to search and study the best online marketing strategies, especially since it seems to be evolving on a daily basis.  That's ok.  We do.  We're here to help.

  2. This is a good tip for small businesses. I would take it one step further and stress how important it is to keep your information updated on these sites. There is nothing more frustrating then finding a place via google or yahoo local, and the number is disconnected.
